    • "But the dead are dead. No deals can bring them back."And so the mystery continues! While the ending of Silver and Bone tied up everything very nicely, Smoke and Mirrors continues the story of Detective Jennifer Jones with a brand new, very creepy, mystery that she has to solve, but she is not alone. The story is very well written, Claudia Cain has a really nice writing style that keeps the reader engaged throughout the entire story. While it did take me a bit to get into, Smoke and Mirrors was st [...]

    • Smoke & Mirrors was easily my favorite read this year. I adored Silver & Bone, the first in the series, and this one was even better! Jennifer Jones is one of the most kickass females in fiction, and I’m not just saying that. Anyone who loves great character development, smart plot lines and epic dialogue will love this book. If I could give it six stars, I would!

    • Rating: 4.25/5A brilliant debut novel is one thing, but to follow it up with an amazing sequel? Watch out world! Smoke and Mirrors follows the sarcastic, but friendly enough, vampire detective Jennifer Jones on another mystery more dangerous, and a hell of a lot creepier than her last. This time Ian is also along for the ride - something I was quite thrilled about. The plot started off well. I enjoyed the mystery, curious enough to want to find out more, but I didn't have as much interest in it [...]

    • So I finished Smoke & Mirrors by Claudia Cain the other night and I'm so obsessed with it 😍It's the second book in her Jennifer Jones series and it was even better than the first!REVIEW:After the events in book 1, Jennifer, vampire and detective, has a lot of things to handle, some worse than others and nothing seems ever to go easy. But a new case will ask for her complete attention, a dead man coming back to life, despite his dead body rotting in the grave. What the hell is going on?Peopl [...]

    • Rating: 4.5 stars! The plot is well thought out. The writing style is vivid. The characters leap off the page. It's just an overall great read. Jennifer Jones is a badass heroine, but what I love about her is that she's not quite the typical hero. She's been the evil she takes down, and while she doesn't think she deserves it, her friends always have her back and play a huge role in the progression of the story. I love the importance and personalities of the minor characters in these books. They [...]
